NVMEN publishes papers representing the most recent scholarship in all areas of the history of religions ranging from antiquity to contemporary history. It covers a diversity of geographical regions, and religions of the past as well as of the present. The approach of the journal to the study of religion is strictly non-confessional. While the emphasis lies on empirical, source-based research, typical contributions also address issues that have a wider historical or comparative significance for the advancement of the discipline. Numen also publishes papers that discuss important theoretical innovations in the study of religion and reflective studies on the history of the discipline. The journal publishes book reviews and review articles to keep professionals in the discipline updated about recent developments.

Créée en 1907 par un groupe de dominicains français, alors exilés en Belgique, au lieu-dit « Le Saulchoir », la Revue des Sciences philosophiques et théologiques (ou RSPT) n’a pas tardé à s’imposer comme revue de référence en philosophie, théologie et sciences religieuses. Solidement enracinée dans la tradition intellectuelle de l’Ordre des Prêcheurs et la fidélité à l’Église catholique romaine, elle s’est aussi engagée, dès le début et délibérément, dans les débats contemporains de l’Université laïque, en conformité rigoureuse avec les critères de la recherche scientifique. Signe de cet esprit à la fois d’ouverture et de scientificité, le choix précoce de la Librairie philosophique J. Vrin comme maison d’édition, à laquelle la revue est liée par une longue et fidèle amitié.
Aujourd’hui, dans un contexte de mutations accélérées qui touche l’ensemble des revues universitaires en sciences humaines, la revue centenaire aborde l’avenir avec une vigilante sérénité. Diffusée dans quatre-vingts pays et référencée internationalement (ATLA Religion Database), la RSPT est désormais accessible en version numérique sur le portail de revues Cairn.info. L’accès y est entièrement gratuit pour tous les fascicules depuis 2001 (tome 85), sauf pour les deux derniers tomes parus dont la consultation du texte intégral est payante.
La revue, publiée par la Province de France des Dominicains à partir de 1907 (tome 1), a interrompu ses parutions de 1914 (tome 8) à 1920 (tome 9) et de 1941-1942 (tome 30) à 1947 (tome 31).

Religion is an internationally recognized, Thomson Reuters-listed journal, publishing original scholarly research in the comparative and interdisciplinary study of religion. Religion is committed to the publication of significant, novel research, as well as review symposia and responses. In addition, the journal includes book reviews and discussions of important venues for the publication of scholarly work in the study of religion. Religion has European and North-American editors, a multi-national Editorial Board, and is committed to publishing work from scholars of religion around the globe, including occasional translations of important papers. Religion accepts papers on all religious studies topics, including the history, literature, thought, practice, material culture, and institutions of particular religious traditions and communities from a variety of perspectives such as social scientific, cultural, cognitive, ethnographic, economic, ecological, and geographic (but excluding theology or philosophy of religion). Religion expects that authors frame their research questions and present their results in terms of relevant theoretical or methodological discussions. Purely descriptive papers are not generally accepted for publication. Papers on theory and methodology are encouraged. All publications in Religion are intended to be of interest to a wide audience of academic scholars of religion; submitted work should be presented in a manner intelligible to more than specialists. Authors are welcome to submit supplementary online material such as animations, movie files, sound files or any additional information for online publication.

Aries is the first professional academic journal specifically devoted to a long-neglected but now rapidly developing domain of research in the humanities, usually referred to as « Western Esotericism ». This field covers a variety of « alternative » currents in western religious history, including so-called « hermetic philosophy » and related currents in the early modern period; alchemy, paracelsianism and rosicrucianism; Christian kabbalah and its later developments; theosophical and illuminist currents; and various occultist and related developments during the 19th and 20th centuries, up to and including popular contemporary currents such as the New Age movement. Aries is a peer-reviewed journal publishing articles and book reviews in English, French, German and Italian.

Gnosis: Journal of Gnostic Studies is a peer-reviewed publication devoted to the study of Gnostic religious currents from the ancient world to the modern, where ‘Gnostic’ is broadly conceived as a reference to special direct knowledge of the divine, which either transcends or transgresses conventional religious knowledge. It aims to publish academic papers on: the emergence of the Gnostic, in its many different historical and local cultural contexts; the Gnostic strands that persisted in the middle ages; and modern interpretations of Gnosticism – with the goal of establishing cross-cultural and trans-historical conversations, together with more localized historical analyses.
The corpus of Gnostic materials includes (but is not restricted to) testimonies from outsiders as well as insider literature such as the Nag Hammadi collection, the Hermetica, Neoplatonic texts, the Pistis Sophia, the books of Jeu, the Berlin and Tchacos codices, Manichaean documents, Mandaean scriptures, and contemporary Gnostic fiction/film and ‘revealed’ literature. The journal will publish the best of traditional historical and comparative scholarship while also featuring newer approaches that have received less attention in the established literature, such as cognitive science, cognitive linguistics, social memory, psychology, ethnography, sociology, and literary theory.Executive Editors

Cette collection, fondée en 1889 et riche de plus de cent quatre-vingts volumes, reflète la diversité des recherches et des enseignements menés au sein de la section des Sciences religieuses de l’École Pratique des Hautes Études. Avec le haut niveau de spécialisation et d’érudition qui caractérise les études menées à l’EPHE, la collection aborde les faits religieux dans un esprit scientifique, laïque et pluraliste. Elle s’intéresse autant aux religions anciennes disparues qu’aux religions contemporaines ; à l’originalité historique, philosophique et théologique des trois grands monothéismes – judaïsme, christianisme, islam – qu’à la diversité religieuse en Asie, en Afrique et aux Amériques, dans la Mésopotamie et l’Égypte anciennes, dans la Grèce et la Rome antiques. Elle n’oublie pas l’étude des marges religieuses et des formes de dissidences – l’analyse des modalités mêmes de sortie de la religion. On y retrouve la multiplicité des disciplines pratiquées à la section des Sciences religieuses : philologie, archéologie, histoire, philosophie, anthropologie, sociologie, droit, iconologie… Les ouvrages sont signés par les meilleurs spécialistes français et étrangers dans le domaine des sciences religieuses (enseignants-chercheurs à l’EPHE, anciens élèves de l’École, professeurs invités…).
